Adding & Managing Medicines
On certain Animal screens in TYR, you will record medications prescribed for specific animals. Here is an example of such a screen:
The medicines that appear in the box labeled "Medicine" are populated from the list you can create during your TYR setup. As you can see in the example above, having this predefined list will save you keystrokes, and you can continue to add medicines to the list as needed. (Note: As you will learn on the ANIMAL RECORDS page entitled Adding & Managing Prescriptions, you are not always restricted to the selection of medicines in the predefined list when recording medicines for specific animals. In the example above, you can also use the "Other Med" field to type in the name of a medicine that is not on your list.)

To Add a Medicine to the List

On the TYR Home screen in the Customization section, click Medicines.
The Manage Medicines screen appears, showing any medications you have already added to the list.

On the Manage Medicines screen, click the blue Add button (
). The Medicine screen appears, ready for you to enter information about the medication.

Enter the name of the medication in the Name field, e.g., metronidazole.

In the "Used For" field, enter the purpose of the medication, e.g., antibiotic for bacterial and parasitic infections..

In the Formulation field, enter the composition of the medication, e.g., tablet, capsule, liquid, ointment. (Note: This information can help others who might be responsible for administering the medication to your animals so they can be better prepared.)

In the Notes field, enter any comments you think might be important about the medication, e.g., potential side effects.
When you have made all your entries, your screen should look something like this:

Click Save. The Medicine screen closes and you are returned to the Manage Medicines screen, where you can see the name and purpose of the medicine you just added, and a "Medicine Saved" confirmation message at the lower left.

On the TYR Home screen in the Customization section, click Medicines to open the Manage Medicines screen.

On the Manage Medicines screen, double-click the cell to the immediate left of the row containing the medication you want to edit. The Medicine screen opens with all fields ready for editing.

Make your desired changes and click Save. The Medicine screen closes and you are returned to the Manage Medicines screen, where you can see the changes you just made, and a "Medicine Modified" confirmation message at the lower left.

On the TYR Home screen in the Customization section, click Medicines to open the Manage Medicines screen.

On the Manage Medicines screen, select the row containing the item you want to delete by clicking the empty cell at the farthest left of the row.

Click the Delete button. A popup window appears to confirm that you really want to delete the item.

To complete the deletion, click OK. You are returned to the Manage Medicines sceen, where the medication you deleted is gone from the center grid, and a confirmation message appears in the lower left corner.
